Why we have no shopping cart system
At Wildabout Wampum, after much thought and discussion, we made a deliberate decision not to go with a shopping cart system on our web pages.
While we are aware there are advantages to using such a system, we feel that this type of "click and purchase" arrangement doesn't accurately apply to the type of one-of-a-kind, individally crafted artwork we create. We are proud of the fact our work is not created in an assembly-line atmosphere. That type of system may work for automobiles, but it doesn't work for art. |
Truth is, had we implemented a shopping cart system, customers may have been mislead into thinking they were purchasing the item shown in the photograph. While it is true the design is depicted in the photographs in our catalogue sections, customers are actually purchasing a piece sculpted to resemble the design in the photograph - but in many cases the piece you purchase will not yet have been made. And the piece displayed in the photograph has likely been sold many months or even years ago.
Where this does not apply, however, is in the One Of A Kind Creations page, where the items you see are the actual items available for purchase. Those very items are here, in our boutique, and are being eyed and coveted by any shoppers who attend our boutique to purchase works in person. If you wish to purchase one of these creations, your best option is to simply pick up the phone and call us -506-576-5445. We will arrange payment and shipping and the piece will be yours! |
